J.R. Richards has made a lasting mark on the landscape of popular music, with a voice that seems to shatter the stratosphere. He’s the singer/songwriter of Dishwalla, the enduring alt-rock band that released five definitive records over 13 years. During that time, the five guys from Santa Barbara saw album sales in the millions, a chart-topping single that earned the Billboard award for ‘Rock Song of the Year,’ a growing network of faithful fans and a travelogue dotted by thousands of performances all over the globe.
So while Dishwalla takes a much-needed break, J.R. is eager to make an entirely different mark on the music scene: his very own. He recently starred as Jesus of Nazareth in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar.” He’s been working on and is ready to share his personal sound with the world for the first time with his new solo album, which Wayfarers audiences will be one of the first to hear!
