7 Festive 4th of July Wedding Ideas

Fill your wedding with red, white and something blue!

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, your wedding has the opportunity to be full of festivity. Here are several ways to incorporate the theme without going completely overboard.

1. The Photoshoot

Tie in the patriotic theme simply- the key is to not overdo it. If you are taking photos at a wedding venue with an ocean view such as Wayfarers Chapel, the ocean blue background is already helping! We love the use of this American flag to convey a classic Americana vibe, not presenting the theme in a cheesy way whatsoever.

2. Not Just a Suit + Tie

Sneakily slip a pair of patriotic socks into the groom’s shoes prior to the ceremony. He’ll look spirited and put together, and give everyone more of a reason to celebrate the wedding and the patriotic holiday.

3. An Understated Bouquet

It’d be too obvious to have red, white and blue flowers in the bride’s bouquet, wouldn’t it? We love the simplicity of these white florals with the nautical navy and white striped ribbon. The ocean alone gives inspiration to the nautical feel, and the subtle stripes are the perfect touch!

4. A Sparkling Cocktail Hour

It’s reception time! Spice up a typical cocktail hour with a festive firework beverage to offer your guests. Any beverage will do, just add a cherry and gold sparkler to garnish. You’re ready to celebrate!

5. Something Blue

That “something blue” can be incorporated into the tablescape for all of your guests to enjoy. The soft blue dinner candles and menu cards nicely contrast the white tablecloth and white floral arrangements and add sophistication. Just enough color, but not too much!

6. A Colorful Cake

Naked cakes are having a moment right now, so top yours off with raspberries, strawberries and blueberries to bring together shades of red, white and blue. The cake’s rustic feel accommodates the classic America theme, and is abundantly fresh with fruit- it will surely put traditional wedding cakes to shame!

7. The Fireworks

Give your guests a version of a 4th fireworks show and pass out sparklers for them to use for when the bride and groom make their exit. It’s interactive and fun for all attendees, and provides a beautiful photo opportunity that is just asking to be captured!
