Memorial Giving
In Celebration of Life
Wayfarers Chapel is the spiritual home to countless people. The natural beauty, the sense of peace and serenity of the Chapel and gardens, its unique architecture and the welcoming of all wayfarers along life’s path, evoke a responsive cord in many people to support and maintain the Chapel.
Memorial Giving
When a loved one dies, there is within us a desire to memorialize their life in a tangible way. There are significant people in our lives whom we wish to honor and celebrate the impact they have made on our lives. During the more than 50-year history of the Wayfarers Chapel, memorial gifts have been made of trees, gardens, a hillside stream, garden lights, a reflecting pool, carillon bells, and other objects of beauty.
The Chapel invites you to make a Memorial Gift to honor and pay tribute to a friend or loved one. Through such a gift, you are also enhancing the beauty of the gardens and grounds for the enjoyment of all wayfarers. The possibilities are limitless: trees, gardens, lighting, benches, and bells. An endowment may be established for a specific purpose, such as a series of concerts, lectures, or workshops, or an expanded program of marriage and family workshops. The amphitheater, the beautiful new Visitors Center, and the Chapel itself all offer opportunities for programs of spiritual renewal and the advancement of music and the arts. Gifts may be made to sponsor creative programs to serve the residents of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the wider Los Angeles community. You may have very definite ideas of the kind of gift you would like to make, and would welcome the opportunity to talk with the Chapel Administrator or the Community Relations Director. If you wish to make a gift, but are unsure of the specific form we would be glad to meet with you and discuss some of the possibilities.
A provision may be made in your will to make a bequest to the Chapel. You can will the Chapel cash, land, a house, stock, bonds, insurance proceeds, art, jewelry, and other valuables. Since the Wayfarers Chapel is a 501.(c).(3) organization, gifts to the Wayfarers Chapel are tax-deductible. For your convenience the Chapel accepts VISA/Mastercard.When designing the Chapel, architect Lloyd Wright developed an overall plan for the buildings and the landscaping of the 3.5 acres that is being implemented step by step. Lloyd Wright’s son, Eric Lloyd Wright, is our consulting architect and is available for consultation on specific projects.
