Worship Special Services
You are invited to these special Worship Services celebrated throughout the year.
Carols and Candles Children’s Service - Usually the last Sunday in November at 6:00 p.m. This joyful service engages children celebrating the true meaning of Christmas through story and song, and a special appearance by the Santa Lucia Children’s Choir from the Church of Sweden Los Angeles. Children of all ages welcome.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Services – December 24 at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. This retelling of the Christmas story includes Bible readings, carols, and processions. Let us be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas, as we light candles and sing “Silent Night”.
New Year’s Renewal Service - First Sunday in January at 10:00 a.m. We take time to reflect on our life journeys thus far, and to discern where the Spirit is leading us. The service concludes with a ceremony in which we write our hopes and dreams for the year to come, and send them to God, as we offer them to the flames.
Palm Sunday Pageant – Sunday before Easter at 10:00 a.m. outside in the Amphitheater. In this service disciples walk with Jesus through the powerful events of Holy Week.
Holy Thursday Communion Service – Thursday before Easter at 7:00 p.m.
Easter Sunrise Service – Easter Sunday at 6:00 a.m. outside in the Amphitheater
Easter Worship Services – Easter Sunday at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Marriage Renewal Service – First Sunday in June at 1:00 p.m. Married couples are invited to attend our annual Marriage Renewal Service, which gives an opportunity to remember and reflect upon the love that binds you together and to renew your commitment to each other. The service is followed by refreshments and a wedding cake. Advance registration is necessary. For more information and to register, please contact the Visitors Center, (310) 377-1650 ext. 2.
Blessing of the Animals Service – Third Sunday in July at 10:00 a.m. In this service the life of all God’s creatures is celebrated. Bring your beloved pet for blessing. A photograph is also welcome.
