Worship Service: My Redeemer Lives!

April 8, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Rev. Dr. Jonathan E. Mitchell

“I love it when Orthodox Easter falls the week after Western Easter. I will take this as an opportunity to reflect further on the mystery of the Lord’s redeeming act. What does it mean to say that my Redeemer lives? How do I depend on the Risen Christ for my spiritual rebirth? I will be reflecting on these questions from within the Swedenborgian tradition we follow at the Wayfarers Chapel.”

Rev. Dr. Jonathan Mitchell is a life-long student of philosophy, comparative religion, and linguistics. He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and an M.A. in Swedenborgian Studies from the Swedenborg School of Religion. He has been an ordained Swedenborgian minister for twenty years. His service has included nine years as Chapel Minister at Wayfarers Chapel. He currently serves as co-pastor of the Garden Church of San Pedro. Rev. Jonathan lives in Redondo Beach with his partner Carl Blenkin. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, cooking, travel, and the study of natural history.
