The Rings

Meghan’s ring was designed by Harry himself, made of Welsh yellow gold and fashioned with diamonds from Botswana and Princess Diana’s collection. Harry’s ring is a little easier to duplicate, simply a platinum wedding band.

The Blooms

Grooms, take notes. Prince Harry handpicked the all-white flowers in Meghan’s wedding day bouquet. The flowers included sweet peas, lily of the valley, astrantia, astilbe, jasmine and Princes Diana’s favorite, Forget-Me-Nots. Keeping with royal wedding tradition, the bouquet also included a sprig of myrtle, symbolizing hope and love and to commemorate Princess Victoria.

The Wedding Day Look(s)

Meghan’s wedding day style was minimal with a hint of glamour. Her gorgeous daytime wedding dress was designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, paired with a sparkling tiara and silk tulle veil. Why have one dress when you can have two? She changed into a sleek, modern dress for the reception allowing for more movement (and dancing, of course), designed by Stella McCartney.

Something Blue

Meghan’s ‘something blue’ has special meaning – a blue piece of fabric sewed into her veil was from the dress she wore on the first date with husband Prince Harry. How sweet!

Scenic Carriage Ride

Some couples opt for a chic getaway car post wedding reception, such as a vintage Mustang or sleek motorcycle. Take notes from Meghan and Harry, who took a carriage ride through Windsor. A scenic drive? More like a scenic ride. The couple also rode in an icy blue jaguar post ceremony, so maybe that’s more your speed.

The Cake

California-raised baker Claire Ptak created a lemon elderflower cake for the royal couple. This choice was a deviation of typical wedding cakes in the past, traditionally some sort of fruit cake. Buttercream and fresh flowers top the extravagant multi-tiered masterpiece.
